Boards in Kanban, Gantt, and Table — your team picks the view

Switch any board between Kanban cards, a Gantt timeline, and a dense table view without losing filters, sort order, or saved-view defaults. One project, three ways to see it.

What this is

A single board, three lenses. Click the view-switcher and the same work re-renders as Kanban cards, a Gantt timeline, or a dense table. No data duplication, no syncing — just different views of the same tasks. The team picks the lens that fits the moment: Kanban for daily stand-up, Gantt for sequencing a quarterly plan, Table for bulk edits during sprint planning.

The three views

Kanban

Cards in columns, grouped by status (or any field you pick: assignee, priority, tag). Drag a card to update it. Color stripes call out priority. Cover images, due dates, and assignee avatars all show at a glance. Multi-select cards to bulk-move them through a stage.

The Kanban view is the default for most teams, and it's what most prospects compare to Monday or Trello. The difference is that BlueHill's Kanban sits next to the customer record — every card has the customer name and a one-click link to the full customer history.

Gantt

A horizontal timeline. Tasks are bars; dependencies are arrows. Scroll left and right to see months; zoom in and out from day to quarter. Drag a bar's edge to extend it. Add a predecessor and the line draws itself.

Gantt is the answer to "when does this customer actually go live?" — it shows the sequence, the slack, and the critical path. The Gantt view automatically respects working days (configurable per workspace) so weekend gaps don't show up as delays.

Table

A spreadsheet, basically. Each row is a task. Columns are fields. Click a cell to edit inline. Bulk-select rows and apply changes across them. Resize columns. Group by any field. Useful when you're planning at volume — adding twelve tasks to a board is faster in Table than dragging twelve Kanban cards.

The Table view is where the team does most of their configuration of a board; Kanban is where they live in it day to day.

Saved views

Save a custom view with:

  • Lens (Kanban / Gantt / Table)
  • Columns visible
  • Filters applied
  • Sort order
  • Grouping
  • Optional name + description

Saved views are per-user by default. Share one to the whole team with a click. Set a personal default so opening any board lands you in your preferred lens. Teams typically end up with three or four shared views (e.g. "My open work", "This sprint", "At risk") plus personal scratch views.

Cross-board

The boards page lists every board across every customer. Filter by customer, team, template, or owner. Aggregate counts roll up: "12 boards in flight, 4 with overdue tasks, 2 stalled." Click into any board and the same three-view switcher works.

When to use each view

| Scenario | Best view | |---|---| | Daily stand-up | Kanban | | Sprint planning | Table | | Customer kickoff (mapping the plan) | Gantt | | Triaging open work | Kanban | | Bulk-editing dates after a scope change | Table | | Mid-quarter review (where are we?) | Gantt | | Capacity check across the team | Kanban with assignee grouping |

A representative day

Morning stand-up: open the team's "This sprint" Kanban view. Drag two cards from "In progress" to "Done". Read the priority stripes on the remaining cards to pick the next one.

Mid-morning: a customer asks "when is X going live?" — click into their board, switch to Gantt, point at the bar. Send them a screenshot. Done in 90 seconds.

Afternoon: scope change for a different customer. Switch to Table. Bulk-select 8 tasks, shift due dates by two weeks in one operation. Save. Switch back to Kanban — the cards reflect the new dates.

End of week: open the cross-board view. Filter to "at-risk" boards. Look at the 3 boards with red signals. Decide what to do about them.

Pricing

Multi-view boards are included on every paid tier (Starter $29 and above). Gantt dependencies and saved views are available on every tier. White-label and per-team scoping ship with Professional ($79).

What this replaces

Teams arriving at BlueHill's multi-view boards typically retire:

  • Trello (Kanban only — no Gantt or Table)
  • TeamGantt or Smartsheet (Gantt-only or Table-only)
  • A spreadsheet for "all the tasks across all the projects"
  • The "let me email you a screenshot" workflow
